Finals: the devil in his latest form!
It is the last week, and today the last day, of school before the holidays! i am very glad for that, because i am going to go up to Nebraska and see some of my mom's family... and of course, the presents! but that's just an added bonus. aah, yes, it would all be perfect but for:Finals
Finals are the most awful thing i have yet to encounter in the most glorious world of freshman-ocity (including partner yoga!) and i think that they should no longer be aloud in the already too stressful life of a teenager. Today i had three classes (I'm on block schedule) and in two of which, i had finals. In English we has our final on the book cosmos by Carl Sagan. for those of you who don't know my English teacher, Dudash, i will tell you he is utterly obsessed with this man and his writing, almost to the point of creepiness! oh, well, i can handle it...
The other final i had was in math, and boy was that fun! OK, well not really... it was long and dull, but manageable... even better, it was an accumulative test! how are we supposed to remember all the way back to the start of the year! that's what the text books are for! stupid ancient math guys and their... math! but i guess for a career in the architectural field... it's still stupid in my book, and the book of all of my friends, so I'm going with majority here... looks like we win!
Oh, and yesterday i had my yoga final. I'm sure you're asking yourself "how can you have a yoga final?!" well, allow me to answer this desperate, unspoken question of yours. we had to write a paper one of Ptanjali's yamas (ahimsa, satya, asteya, bramacharia, and aparigraha) and then do the entire first series in complete silence, and have it memorized. I'm not too worried on how i did though, because i don't think my teacher would grade anyone down below a C, sooo... there's that...
if you feel you've had enough of my oh-so-exciting wonderful life, well... me too... and if not... too bad i guess! Everybody have a Holly-Jolly-Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Holiday-in-general!!!
k, more later!

go awkward stages of adolescence, go!
ladies and gentlemen, allow me to share with you the not-at-all awkward glories of partner yoga. During yoga on Friday, we voted to do partner yoga and i must mention how much i loath partner yoga, not knowing one person in the class. anyway, there is a gorgeous guy in the class whose name is Jacob; he has beautiful skin, hair and eyes, and he is very nice and muscled because he is a swimmer. not to mention the fact that he is taller that me, which is very difficult for me to find in all my 5'8". really guys, is it so difficult to drink your milk? any way, i had just finished going, "dang it ms.Donovan, are you sure you counted right? cuz i dont know anyone here... and the one girl near my height left, so this will be difficult anyhow," when Jacob pipes up saying "is this close enough ms.?" standing next to his equally tall friend Jackson. then, their other guy friend, whom jackson is closer to in height walks in. at this point, im the only girl in the room without a partner. ms. donovan then says "hmmm... actually jake come be with emily, cuz she doesnt have a parner, and jackson and (insert whats-his-face's name here), why dont you two be together." so now, i am stuck with beautiful junior jacob, and very awkward freshman me, as partners.i dont know if i've mention this before, but yoga is vey intimate. so i noticed, while partnered with jake, that there is alot of lifting each other, handholding, knee... holding, leg grabing and so forth. AWKWARD! this wouldve been nice, had i not been in my gross yoga clothes, kinda sweaty, prickly (leg-wise, which was very embarassing when he had to grab my leg multiple times, as i was wearing cut off tights) and if we had talked. at all. ah the glories of adolescence... some of the thigns we had to do, were like one person sticks there butt up in the air in downward dog while the other person streatches backwards them, and vice versa. that is just one example of many many physically awkard things we "got" to do... sigh. OH! and even worse, at one point while we were leaning towards our legs, he was pushing on my habd wierd, and as i pulled my arm u, my shoulder popped out of place. itold ms. donovan, slightly panicky, that my shoulder had just popped out of lace and would not go back in. her response? "so push it back!" she then came over and did some sourt of magical shoulder jiggle thing, and it went back in. it still hurts today. go partner yoga!
