go awkward stages of adolescence, go!
ladies and gentlemen, allow me to share with you the not-at-all awkward glories of partner yoga. During yoga on Friday, we voted to do partner yoga and i must mention how much i loath partner yoga, not knowing one person in the class. anyway, there is a gorgeous guy in the class whose name is Jacob; he has beautiful skin, hair and eyes, and he is very nice and muscled because he is a swimmer. not to mention the fact that he is taller that me, which is very difficult for me to find in all my 5'8". really guys, is it so difficult to drink your milk? any way, i had just finished going, "dang it ms.Donovan, are you sure you counted right? cuz i dont know anyone here... and the one girl near my height left, so this will be difficult anyhow," when Jacob pipes up saying "is this close enough ms.?" standing next to his equally tall friend Jackson. then, their other guy friend, whom jackson is closer to in height walks in. at this point, im the only girl in the room without a partner. ms. donovan then says "hmmm... actually jake come be with emily, cuz she doesnt have a parner, and jackson and (insert whats-his-face's name here), why dont you two be together." so now, i am stuck with beautiful junior jacob, and very awkward freshman me, as partners.i dont know if i've mention this before, but yoga is vey intimate. so i noticed, while partnered with jake, that there is alot of lifting each other, handholding, knee... holding, leg grabing and so forth. AWKWARD! this wouldve been nice, had i not been in my gross yoga clothes, kinda sweaty, prickly (leg-wise, which was very embarassing when he had to grab my leg multiple times, as i was wearing cut off tights) and if we had talked. at all. ah the glories of adolescence... some of the thigns we had to do, were like one person sticks there butt up in the air in downward dog while the other person streatches backwards them, and vice versa. that is just one example of many many physically awkard things we "got" to do... sigh. OH! and even worse, at one point while we were leaning towards our legs, he was pushing on my habd wierd, and as i pulled my arm u, my shoulder popped out of place. itold ms. donovan, slightly panicky, that my shoulder had just popped out of lace and would not go back in. her response? "so push it back!" she then came over and did some sourt of magical shoulder jiggle thing, and it went back in. it still hurts today. go partner yoga!
